Your role in the organization:
As the Quality Director you will be responsible for process implementation and improvements that ensure products are meeting expectations and customer requirements. Using your continuous improvement mentality and expertise in problem solving to enhance the quality and improve production as well as be the expert for Quality Auditing. We need a hands on leader, with proven success in identifying and implementing proven solutions, as well as a leader who can be an integral part of training and drive compliance on the floor and creating a Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement culture. You will be the go-to expert in audits, ISO compliance, and proper documentation of quality systems. This position will report directly to the COO and has a lot of decision making power and exposure to senior management.
To be successful in this role:
  • Technical degree in Engineering or similar – Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, etc.
  • Plastics manufacturing experience – Extrusion, Converting, Injection Molding, Blow Molding, etc.
  • 5+ years of product quality management, true problem solving
  • Working knowledge of formal management systems, i.e. SQF, HACCP, FDA, PMO, IMS
  • Strong with customer interaction and finding solutions
  • Strong leader and coach who can train and motivate the team
  • SQF Practitioner a plus, Six Sigma Certifications a plus
  • Experience in hands on implementation, bring part of a culture change is a plus
Location – This position will be based in their US Headquarters in Virginia, near the capital and commutable from several great cities around the area of Richmond. This community is a historic town with a lot of history and a great place for growing families and careers, low cost of living, and all four seasons. Additionally, you are close to the coast for weekend trips to the beach!
