The Foodservice Production Shift Facilitator is responsible for facilitating the day-to-day production operations for his/her assigned department and shift. He/she is responsible for people and team development, quality performance, production output, employee safety, and food safety. The Facilitator collaborates with the Plant Manager, Department Manager, OSS and others to ensure communications and decisions are consistent with the Company’s values, culture, behavior expectations, and policies/procedures. The Facilitator will provide technical expertise when needed.
2. Principal Accountabilities
A. Collaborates with the Plant Manager, Department Manager, OSS, fellow Shift facilitators, and Senior Management to ensure communication and consistency.
B. Achieves production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules and resolving problems Ensures the quality, safety and productivity of assigned department’s operations on assigned shift.
C. Communicates to, trains, and monitors employees in adherence to all Company requirements, to include: Job duties, policies and procedures, behavior expectations GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
D. Establishes and nurtures a work environment conducive to harmonious employee relations on assigned shift.
E. Actively participates in development and implementation of procedures and process improvements on assigned shift.
F. Provides support to all other shift leaders as needed on assigned shift.
G. Plans, monitors and appraises job contributions and develop personal growth opportunities.
H. Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports as directed.
3. Nature and Scope
The Foodservice Production Shift Facilitator directly manages the activities of the departmental employees on the assigned shift. The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing and controlling the day-to-day work of the departmental employees to include compliance with established policies and procedures, scheduling job placement assignments, training and development of employees assigned to his/her shift. The position reports to the Department Manager. The responsibilities of this position have a direct and immediate impact on the quality of our products, the safety of our workers and the efficiency of our operations.
4. Knowledge and Experience Required
The Foodservice Production Shift Facilitator should be an experienced leader of hourly production employees who is a consummate communicator, facilitator, and a patient, compassionate mediator who prefers to lead by example. The incumbent must be able to clearly demonstrate well developed interpersonal and communication skills. Direct experience in supervision in a food manufacturing facility is considered a plus. Demonstrated working experience with computers and business software programs required. Experience in a manufacturing environment with PLC/HMI machinery is preferred. A 2-year or 4-year degree or technical education is preferred.
