DescriptionPosition overview:
Manages all project activities for Professional Engineering and Turnkey projects in accordance with the project schedule. This includes directing and coordinating an engineering design team, subcontractor activities in accordance with project/client procedures, scope of work, and contract specifications. Serves as the primary point of contact with the client for project related activities. May perform as Construction Manager as necessary.
Primary Responsibilities:
Travel to other offices or client locations (international travel required) as required 30-50% (travel is required for but not limited to; data gathering, design reviews, installs, start-ups and troubleshooting)
Work collaboratively and build effective relationships with others
Communicate effectively across all levels within organization
Maintain a positive attitude
Work with client to develop scope, resolve conflicts, and build the relationship
Develop new business opportunities through excellent project execution
Promote brand and culture with client(s)
Provide project management of multi-disciplined engineering projects and responsible for overall execution of work. Establishes project schedule and budget, and monitors progress in meeting schedule and budget requirements
Anticipate project staffing needs and provide input to selection of project team members
Establish objectives and provide performance feedback for project team members
Establish a project safety plan and ensure that it is communicated to all employees on the job
Manage pricing and negotiating changes to the scope of work with the client and subcontractors
Document and execute changes in scope of project
Anticipate problems and work with client, engineering, OEMs, subcontractors, and project teams to provide corrective actions
Develop and execute projects within budget, schedule and contractual commitments
Act as technical resource for team and actively coach junior engineers and designers
Coordinate and lead engineering design and CAD resources
Required Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering (packaging, electrical, mechanical or chemical)
10+ years of experience in packaging related Turnkey or professional engineering project management in the food and beverage industry
10+ years of in the role of a lead engineer
5+ years of project management experience
Contract negations and management experience
Project financial tracking experience
Experience working in a consumer products industry
Previous experience (proven track record) developing customer relationships
Previous experience (proven track record) of successful Turnkey Project management for medium to large projects
Previous experience (proven track record) performing in a leadership role with excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in MS Project, Word, Excel and is able to review drawings using various CAD packages (testing to determine proficiency level is required)
OSHA 30 or 40 hour trained
Preferred Qualifications:
MS degree in Engineering
15+ years of industry related business experience
Background in project management and execution
PM Certification
PE
